Free image to text extractor

Upload a picture and get the text out of it. Printed pages, handwriting, whiteboards and screenshots. No signup, no card.

Free · no signup · no card

Free to use. Free to keep.

The tool needs no account. A free account saves every result, adds the full study kit, and syncs to your phone.

This free image to text tool reads a picture and gives you the words in it. It handles a printed page, a screenshot, a whiteboard and handwriting. Text comes back in the order you would read it, with headings, lists and tables kept. Nothing is translated and nothing is added. No sign up and no card.

Why use this image to text

Reading order kept

Two columns come out as two columns read in order, not interleaved.

Handwriting included

Not just printed pages. Notebooks and whiteboards read too.

Nothing invented

It transcribes. It does not translate, summarise or fill in what it cannot read.

Then do something with it

Use the buttons under the result to turn the same text into cards, a quiz or a summary.

Who it's for

Students

Get a textbook page into text you can search and paste.

Anyone with a screenshot

Pull the words out without retyping them.

Researchers

Read an old scanned page that no PDF reader will open properly.

Questions

Is this OCR?

It does the same job. It uses an AI vision model rather than classic OCR, which is why handwriting and photos at an angle still work.

What about tables?

A table comes back one row per line, with the cells separated. Easy to paste into a spreadsheet.

Does it change my words?

No. It transcribes what is written. It never translates, shortens or corrects.

Is it free?

Yes, no account and no card. There is a daily cap on the free reader.

Study it on your phone too
