Does it really read handwriting?
Yes. AI reads the page image the same way a person would. Messy writing still works, though a word it truly cannot read is marked instead of guessed.
How do I get a good result?
Flat page, good light, fill the frame with the writing, and avoid a shadow across the middle. One page per photo reads better than two.
Can I use a whiteboard photo?
Yes. Arrows and boxes in a hand-drawn diagram are read as links between the labels.
What file types work?
JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC straight off an iPhone.
Is it free?
Yes, no account and no card. There is a daily cap on the free photo reader, so it can be busy at peak times.
