Can I record a lecture longer than 90 minutes?

Updated May 18, 2026·2 min read

Yes. On Pro there is no length cap. Synapsi keeps transcribing for as long as the lecture runs, including multi-hour seminars and back-to-back classes. On Free, single recordings are capped at 90 minutes.

Tips for long sessions

  • Keep the recording tab open and in the foreground. Browsers throttle background tabs, which can interrupt a recording.
  • Plug in. Long recordings drain the battery faster than you expect.
  • The upload runs after you stop recording, so make sure you're online when you finish.

Very long recordings are automatically split into chapters in the summary, so a three-hour lab doesn't become one wall of text.
