Can I record a lecture longer than 90 minutes?

Updated May 18, 2026·2 min read

Yes. On Pro (including your first 7 days of full access) there is no length cap. Synapsi keeps transcribing for as long as the lecture runs, including multi-hour seminars and back-to-back classes. On the free plan, single recordings are capped at 90 minutes.

Tips for long sessions

  • Keep the recording tab open and in the foreground. Browsers throttle background tabs, which can interrupt a recording.
  • Plug in. Long recordings drain the battery faster than you expect.
  • The upload runs after you stop recording, so make sure you're online when you finish.

Very long recordings are automatically split into chapters in the summary, so a three-hour lab doesn't become one wall of text.
