My recording got cut off. What now?

Updated Apr 29, 2026·2 min read

If a recording stopped early, the audio captured up to that point is almost always safe. Synapsi buffers continuously, so you rarely lose more than a few seconds.

What to check

  • Look for the partial note in your library. It processes the audio that was captured.
  • If your laptop slept, the OS suspended the tab. Disable auto-sleep for long lectures.
  • A dropped network won't lose audio; it just delays the upload until you reconnect.
Tip: For important lectures, keep the device plugged in and disable sleep. That removes the most common cause of a cut-off.
